MyPromiseKeeper is a product of Workhorse Solutions, LLC, a Wyoming Limited Liability Company ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.
We understand that prayer is deeply personal. Your prayers are yours. We will never sell, share, or monetize your prayer content.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password
- Prayer content: prayers, reflections, gratitude entries, and notes you create
- Social data: friend connections, group memberships, and shared prayers (only what you choose to share)
- Profile information: display name, timezone preference
- Device information: device token for push notifications (only if you enable them)
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: features used, prayer streak counts, app interaction patterns
- Device information: device type, operating system version
- We do not use third-party analytics trackers or advertising SDKs
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the prayer journal service
- To sync your prayers across devices
- To send push notifications (daily reminders, prayer support, friend requests) based on your preferences
- To generate your personal prayer statistics and year-in-review
- To facilitate community features (prayer groups, friend connections) when you opt in
- To send transactional emails (password resets, email verification)
Data Privacy and Security
Prayer content privacy
All prayers default to private. You explicitly choose to share prayers with friends or make them public. We never access, read, or analyze the content of your prayers for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.
Data encryption
All data is transmitted using TLS encryption. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Authentication tokens are signed and time-limited.
Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently purged within 24 hours, including prayers, reflections, group memberships, and device tokens.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time
- Export: You can export all your data as JSON through the app settings
- Delete: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data
- Modify: You can edit or delete individual prayers, reflections, and profile information
- Control sharing: You can change prayer privacy levels, leave groups, and remove friends at any time
Third-Party Services
- Apple Sign In: For authentication (Apple's privacy policy applies)
- Apple Push Notification Service: For delivering notifications to iOS devices
- Bible API: For fetching daily Bible verses (no personal data is sent)
- App Store: For subscription management (Apple's privacy policy applies)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
MyPromiseKeeper is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of MyPromiseKeeper after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
